“National Youth Essay Writing Competition 2009”
Ministry of Youth Affairs Government of Pakistan is holding a “National Youth Essay Writing Competition 2009” under the following two categories.
Category-I 15-21 years
a) Socio-Cultural Factors For Solidarity of Pakistan
b) Education Reforms and Employment
c) Role of Youth in Nation Building
d) Volunteerism for Social Change.
Category-II 22-29 years
a) Clash of Civilization: Myth and Reality
b) Global Warming and Its Impact On Pakistan
c) Public Private Partnership For Quality Public Service Delivery
d) Impact Of Economic Growth On Poverty Reduction With Special Reference To Pakistan
The competition will allow young men and Women, with a flair for creativity, to put their ideas into words.
Eligibility: All the youth who are the citizens of Pakistan and fall under the age of above mentioned categories on
30-11-2009, are eligible to participate in this competition.
General Guidelines for the participants: The following guidelines should be followed while attempting the essay:
• The essay can be attempted in either Urdu or English language with a total length of 1500 to 2000 words. One person can attempt essay on one topic only.
• The essay should be typed on A4 size paper.
• Preference will be given to the work exhibiting good knowledge and understanding of the relevant topic.
• The essay should be well structured, focused with coherent arguments.
• The essay should reflect analytical thinking and critical insight.
Monetary Awards: Cash award and a certificate will be awarded to the first three position holders of the competition on each topic. The Ministry will pay Rs. 50,000/- to the winner, Rs, 30,000/- to the Runner-up and Rs. 20,000/- to the youth finishing third in the competition.
Important: The essay should be submitted as per the prescribed format as indicated above latest by 5th December, 2009, along with the following documents.
i) Copy of NIC or B-form
ii) One page C.V. indicating all the contact details of the participants like e-mail address, Phone number and residential address etc.
